On Saturday, March 21st, our Arizona chapter hosted
Spaghetti Night, a fundraiser for local multimedia projects.
Guests arrived at 5:30 pm to a buffet that included
spaghetti, meatballs, and salad, with homemade brownies
for dessert.
After an hour of eating and socializing (with many
guests sitting on makeshift chairs or standing because
the room was so full), local chapter coordinator Jesse
Curnow made a few opening comments, and introduced the
keynote speaker, Chuck Carlson.
Over a decade ago Chuck Carlson gave up his life as
a businessman to form, along with a few close friends,
an organization called We Hold These Truths. The main
focus of their activism is outreach to Christians who
are blindly devoted to the state of Israel. To date
they have picketed, nationwide, more than 60 churches
who supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The topic of Mr. Carlson’s speech was, “Christian
Zionism”. He discussed the influence of the Scofield
bible written in 1909. Cyrus Scofield re-wrote the King
James Bible, adding his own pro-Zionist footnotes.
He then talked about the deal made between the early
Zionists and Great Britain: if Great Britain would promise
to make Palestine a Jewish homeland, the Zionists would
get the United States involved in WWI.
He also showed a Power Point presentation about a visit
he made to the Gaza Strip.
A short intermission then took place, after which local
musician Mark Valley got in front of the audience, entertaining
all with his music and unique sense of humor.
The evening concluded with a raffle, followed by the
premiere of the latest Nationalist Coalition video,
Two Lines. Expect to see this video on our Youtube channel
very soon.
Several hundred dollars were raised for the local chapter,
in addition to the new contacts and camaraderie shared
by all. In short, the event was a huge success.
