Silly Al-Jazeera, you can’t run a Democracy like that!

Silly Al-Jazeera, you can’t run a Democracy like that!

I think anytime Osama bin Laden speaks it is newsworthy and he just released an audio tape. The recording was released in Arabic and directly to the Al-Jazeera news channel, a Middle Eastern news network

This is not only relevant and newsworthy to the world; it is really a matter of national security for Americans. And it is we, that is to say we the people, more than anyone, that should especially understand what he has to say because more often than not, it is we the people that he hold accountable.

In terms of credibility to do what he says and an ability and willingness to attack Americans, we should all agree by now that Osama bin Laden is not a blow-hard, joker that just likes to run his mouth. We should also immediately dismiss any claims that he is just trying to get attention. Believe me, he has far more effective ways to get our attention and those methods are infinitely more effective than just releasing an audio tape. If he merely wanted to get publicity or attention he would not release Arabic-only versions or release only to Al-Jazeera news.

This is not a matter of whether or not anything Osama bin Laden has to say is relevant or newsworthy. This is not a matter of whether or not Osama bin Laden is ready, willing, and able to attack Americans. This is not a matter of some radical, Islamic extremist, super-boogey-man, just wanting some media exposure. This is simply a matter of what the people who control the mass media, and probably the Federal government too, do not want you to hear.

“There is no greater power in the world today than that wielded by the manipulators of public opinion in America. No king or pope of old, no conquering general or high priest ever disposed of a power even remotely approaching that of the few dozen men who control America’s mass news and entertainment media.”

So a new recording from Osama bin Laden was released this week and most of the news sources covering the story say something like the “transcript is not yet available”. So I looked for the last couple of days and I still have not seen a full transcript in English anywhere yet. I guess all our Arabic-speaking translators are dodging bullets and road-side bombs in Iraq and Afghanistastan right now. Or perhaps the Google team is assisting with keeping American’s in the dark on some issues. See Page-2
