Ponzi Scheme Collapses Up Nearly 400% In 2009

As the depression intensified this year the country saw the number of Ponzi scheme collapses increase nearly 400% over 2008’s numbers.
According to the Associated Press tens of thousands of investors located throughout the country have lost a significant sums of money, in some cases they lost their life’s savings.
This year’s schemes ranged from several hundred thousand dollars to the $7 billion scam pulled off by financier Allen Standford. Stanford is currently in prison awaiting trial.
