Media Lies: The Sin of Omission

The fact that the controlled mass-media will never connect these dots is, after all, the primary problem in this country. We can spend eternity discussing and debating all the symptoms of the problem but treating the symptoms will get us nowhere.

The manifestation of the problem in this example is what is tantamount to a lie of omission. By deliberately omitting the relevant facts in this story, by deceptively not focusing in on the real issue and explaining it clearly, an issue that is painfully clear to some of us, the controlled mass-media IS the problem. Not allowing a democracy to get full and complete, accurate, objective, honest, factual news, leads that democracy into uninformed opinions and faulty decisions. This is the hallmark of the controlled mass-media, the kosher-party-line, and it is propaganda, pure and simple. It is an example of lying by omission and those that control our mass-media know this full well.

As an informed citizen of the great U.S. democracy, what will also get you labeled a dissident or worse, you should be able to quickly figure out what happened here. As soon as you hear the words Al-Qaeda or jihad, you should instantly know that the latest terrorist attempt on U.S. soil was the result of our governments foreign policy in the Middle East, a policy that puts us at odds with all of Israel’s enemies, a policy that is forcing us to give up our liberties under the false expectation of gaining safety. Let me explain more clearly.

I am certainly no scholar on Al-Qaeda but I have taken notice to the rise of this organization or ideology for some time now. I know that Al-Qaeda translates from Arabic to “the base”, and that its founding is usually attributed to Osama bin Laden. Without doing any research, and I admit I have not; the simplest, objective, or core ideology that I can attribute to Al-Qaeda is a multinational, Islamic dedication to jihad, or holy war, against any non-Muslim presence in the “holy land”, targeting that entity wherever it can be found. It appears to be a fundamental principle, a responsibility, almost a sacred duty, of those Muslims that identify with either Al-Qaeda or its original leader/figurehead, Osama bin Laden. And from there, you can break it down into terms I think we can all understand based one what has been said or done by these adherents.

I remembered the below PBS interview and quotes from a long time ago. The substance of some of the statements really gave clarity to my understanding of who Osama bin Laden was and what he and Al-Qaeda represented. I do not like repeatedly quoting Osama bin Laden and as far as I know he could be dead or sitting in some CIA-Mossad dungeon somewhere, as keeping this boogey-man alive is far more useful to the Tribe than allowing him to swing from a gallows. But if you want to understand what is implied when you hear the words Al-Qaeda or jihad, you should really understand what the prime Al-Qaeda jihadist had to say.

So below are some relevant quotes that can help all of us connect the dots when we hear the controlled mass-media use the words Al-Qaeda or the jihad. The lie of omission can be overcome if we understand who is lying and why. And then it becomes our responsibility, our duty to inform anyone and everyone else capable of rational thought. August 23, 1996
Several months after being expelled from the Sudan, bin Laden issues his “Declaration of War Against the Americans Who Occupy the Land of the Two Holy Mosques.” It reads, in part:

“Muslims burn with anger at America. For its own good, America should leave [Saudi Arabia.] … There is no more important duty than pushing the American enemy out of the holy land. …..Due to the imbalance of power between our armed forces and the enemy forces, a suitable means of fighting must be adopted, i.e. using fast-moving, light forces that work under complete secrecy. In other words, to initiate a guerrilla war, where the sons of the nation, and not the military forces, take part in it.”

October – November 1996
Bin Laden is quoted in October/November issue of Nida’ul Islam magazine as saying:
“As for their accusations of terrorizing the innocent, the children, and the women, these are in the category of ‘accusing others with their own affliction in order to fool the masses.’ The evidence overwhelmingly shows America and Israel killing the weaker men, women and children in the Muslim world and elsewhere”.

March 1997
In a CNN interview with Osama bin Laden, he says:
“We declared jihad against the US government, because the US government is unjust, criminal and tyrannical. It has committed acts that are extremely unjust, hideous and criminal whether directly or through its support of the Israeli occupation……For this and other acts of aggression and injustice, we have declared jihad against the US, because in our religion it is our duty to make jihad so that God’s word is the one exalted to the heights and so that we drive the Americans away from all Muslim countries.”

February 22, 1998
Bin Laden issues an edict calling for attacks on all Americans, including civilians, and announces the creation of the International Islamic Front for Jihad Against the Jews and Crusaders, in association with extremist groups from Egypt, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

“Despite the great devastation inflicted on the Iraqi people by the crusader-Zionist alliance, and despite the huge number of those killed, which has exceeded 1 million… despite all this, the Americans are once again trying to repeat the horrific massacres”

“We–with God’s help–call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it.”

“The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies — civilians and military — is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it”

December 23, 1998
This interview with Time Magazine includes the following question-answer excerpts:

“The International Islamic Front for Jihad against the U.S. and Israel has, by the grace of God, issued a crystal-clear fatwah calling on the Islamic nation to carry on jihad aimed at liberating holy sites. The nation of Muhammad has responded to this appeal. If the instigation for jihad against the Jews and the Americans in order to liberate al-Aksa Mosque and the Holy Ka’aba [Islamic shrines in Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia] is considered a crime, then let history be a witness that I am a criminal. Our job is to instigate and, by the grace of God, we did that, and certain people responded to this instigation.”

So we should all be clear about what this young Nigerian was thinking when he tried to kill hundreds of people over America on Christmas day. I have heard some of the media pundits asking the so-called experts if this was just an isolated act, the work of a “lone wolf”, or if it could be part of a larger conspiracy, one that was only partly carried out, unsuccessfully at that. And then asking the question of these experts, what would be more dangerous for the world; lone wolf or orchestrated terrorism?

That is a thorny one to think about adequately. Sure, an organized plot could be more successful if it is carried out in a synchronized, planned way. But the random “lone wolf” approach seems far more difficult to prevent.

But in either scenario the one thing you and I can expect is that we will be forced to give up more and more of our liberties and that will only ultimately increase the safety of Israel!

Help everyone you know connect the dots. We can not educate the masses but we can continue to keep some clarity to what is going on in the world for at least some of us. Perhaps one day we can work together to solve the real problem in this country. The masses can be educated once the mechanism of mass-media is controlled by those concerned with long term interests exclusive of Israel.
